"We Won't Empower Girls" is a picture book with a powerful mission—to show little girls that the source of power is already within them.

My inspiration for writing this book stems from the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement. Iranian women, who grew up in a culture that told them "women can't," played a crucial role in this movement that spread around the world. I've shared the story of this movement in the author's note pages in the book to introduce no non-Iranian girls and inspire them.
